2007 Monthly Newsletter
Don Underwood, KAMS club President, called the meeting to order on
January 7, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Ludlow Field.
Members present:

Treasurers Report:
Approx $2,600.00 in the checking account. $2,500 in savings.
Old Business:
1) Don has started replacing the fences
2) The pilot stations need to have some maintenance done on them.
3) The next Fly-In date is scheduled for May 12, 2007.
New Business:
1) Be careful of the holes left from the removed posts. They are a
tripping hazards.

Don Underwood, KAMS club President, called the meeting to order on
February 4, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Ludlow Field.

Treasurers Report:
Approx $2,600.00 in the checking account. $2,500 in savings.
Old Business:
1) Fence posts and railing have been set. The under railing needs to be
completed.
2) The pilot stations need to have some maintenance done on them.
3) The next Fly-In date is scheduled for May 12, 2007.
New Business:
1) Lou is going to try and get the lawn mowers annual maintenance done
before the grass begins to grow.
2) Mobile will host a 2nd Jamboree that is scheduled for June 2nd and
3rd.

March 4, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Ludlow Field.

Treasurers Report:
Approx $2,500.00 in the checking account. $2,500 in savings.
Old Business:
1) The new fencing has been installed. It looks very nice.
2) The pilot stations need to have some maintenance done on them.
3) The next Fly-In date is scheduled for May 12, 2007.
4) Mobile will host a 2nd Jamboree that is scheduled for June 2nd and
3rd.
New Business:
1) Lou is going to try and get the lawn mowers annual maintenance done
before the grass begins to grow.
2) A change to the by-laws was voted in unanimously.
The red section was added.
The Treasurer shall exercise general supervision of the Society's
financial affairs, shall have custody of its monies,
and shall have charge of the collection of
Society dues and fees as well as the proper disbursement of the
Society's monies. He/She shall procure a checking
account in the Club’s name, using his own and an additional club
member’s signature. They shall make a financial report at the
annual meeting, after the Society's acceptance of which they shall
surrender all books of accounting, receipts, vouchers, and moneys to
their successor. Further, the Treasurer shall collect the required fees
for AMA Club Charter and they will assist the Secretary by proper
disbursement for the filing of the annual renewal application for AMA
Club Charter for the Society.

April 2007 Monthly
Newsletter
Don Underwood, KAMS club President, called the meeting to order on
April 15, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Ludlow Field. The meeting was rescheduled
due to bad weather and Easter.
Members present:

Mowry, Billy Ray Krebbs, R. D. Stacy, Bob Thornton
Treasurers Report:
Approx $2,100.00 in the checking account. $2,500 in savings.
Old Business:
1) The field have been fertilized and mowed.
2) Mowers have been serviced. A gas cut-off valve was added to the
poulan mower.
3) Some of the pilot stations have had new safety netting installed.
4) The next Fly-In date is scheduled for May 12, 2007.
5) Mobile will host a 2nd Jamboree that is scheduled for June 2nd and
3rd.
New Business:
1) Some ant killer needs to be put on the ant hills.
2) Tony Stillman is moving to the Georgia area.
3) Jeff is going to work on the storage box and try to repair the roof.

1) The Fly-In is scheduled for 5/12/07. There will be a field clean up
day on Thursday 5/10/07.

1) Club Dues are due in June.

1) The Fly-In had good weather and we had a good turn out.
2) Mobile seemed to have a good turn out for the Jamboree.

1) A new wind sock was donated by Chevron.
2) Dates for the next fly-in were discussed and a tentative date for the
3rd Saturday in October was suggested.

order on July 1, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Ludlow Field.
Members present:

Bob Thornton, Al Warburton, Duane Gonzales, David Spence, Billy Anderson
Treasurers Report:
A treasury report was given and accepted by the members present.
Old Business:
1) Club Dues are DUE. There are still a few members that have not paid
there dues. Dues are $50.

1) The next Fly-In date was changed to October 13, 2007 due to conflicts
with other events in the area.
2) There is a survey stake on the runway so be careful when you are
landing. It is going to be used to take a core sample.
3) Summer is here and that means longer days and a lot more flying time.
But your help is needed. I am as guilty as anyone else, but it seems
like the same people do all of the cutting and edging at the field all
of the time. Lets get together and help out as much as possible

Old Business:
1) Dustin Howell is moving and a new club Secretary is required. Duane
Gonzales volunteered and was elected to the office.

Harold is reportedly doing fine.

order on December 2, 2007, 2:30 p.m. at Ludlow Field.

Treasurers Report:
The treasurers report was given by Paul Verger and accepted by the
quorum. Paul will transfer half of the operating funds to our Emergency
fund.
Old Business:
1) Safety - Discussion of keeping hands out of the props.
2) Reminder that KAMS Elections are in December and its time to renew
our AMA memberships.
3) Lawn mower maintenance - We need a battery for the Poulan. Lou will
check on this.
4) Welcome to two new members: Herschel Vail and Lee Carroll.
New Business:
1) Annual Elections were held and the incumbent officers were
re-elected. Paul Verger is appointed the Secondary Treasurer.
2) Paul Verger and Don Underwood are our official Instructor Pilots.
3) Our Spring Fly-in is tentatively set for May 10, 2008.
4) We still need a battery for the Poulan lawn mower and the field will
need another mowing before spring.
5) Discussion of the future of our field with Mr. Tommy Brodnax whom was
elected as District 4 Supervisor and the water table below the field
being about 30' to 40'.
